Girl's Camp

 Ah, Girl's Camp! I love it so!! This year was Stake camp up at Mutual Dell. Matt was out of town so my parent's took my kids up to the cabin and I was able to be at camp every day and then sleep at the cabin at night. Dreamy. I haven't had so much fun in a long time! The speakers were inspiring, the activities were challenging, the down time was relaxing, the games were cut-throat, the fire pit was bottomless, and the flash mob was repetitive!

To have a successful camp, you need:

 1. a fabulous group of girls.

2. to be flexible.
By that I mean you must learn to improvise when your fire pit is 8 feet deep and on a hill. Starting the fire may require you to actually climb down in the pit, and there may not be a place for people to sit around it. Instead, find another area to sing songs, and be careful when roasting marshmallows.

 3. Fun crafts. 
 I was in charge of this one, and it was super easy and cute!

 4. Secret Sister gifts
that give you the creeps and make you pee your pants laughing at the same time! 

5. Games. 

Nothing beats a good game of Spoons, Signs, or Ligretto. Violence is sure to ensue.

6. Fun hair-do's.

 

7. Pranks. 

Saran Wrap and rubber snakes are both good options.

8. Fun activities. 

We had fun zip lining, making it through the confidence courses, and rock climbing.

9. Mustaches.

Mustaches make everything better, don't you think?

Planet Play

One of our Friday activities was a day at Planet Play. The kids were having so much fun that we ended up staying for 5 hours!

Enjoying our freedom

 

We've really been enjoying summer so far! The weather has been perfect. We stay up late and sleep in late (well, some of us do...). We love seeing what each day will bring, but do have a schedule that we try to keep:

Monday: Craft Day 

Tuesday: Library Day 

Wednesday: Cooking/Baking Day 

Thursday: Service Day

Friday: Get out and explore Day

It's fun not having a strict schedule, but it's also fun having something to look forward to each day.

We've launched rockets

We've made rock families

We've enjoyed the wildflowers that grow abundantly on the hill

We've watched movies

We've had fun with friends

We've had sleepovers and snuggled in our blankets

We've watched our garden grow

So far, it's been a blast! I'm glad we have a few more months to enjoy!!

School's Out!

 Hooray for popsicles, sprinklers, pool time, and sleeping in!!

Kensie didn't even come home from the last day of school and instead went to a pool and late night party with her friends- thus, no pictures of her by the sign!

Look Who's Five!

Jackson celebrated his actual birthday by going out to lunch and shopping with Grandma and Grandpa Holbrook. We then spent the evening at the dinosaur museum, and he got a special birthday banana split!

Jackson continues to be the comedian extraordinaire in our family. He always has some witty remark or comment that makes us laugh. Like the other day when Kensie was playing a self composed, Native American sounding song on her recorder and Jackson exclaimed "I can taste the PASSION!" as he was listening! Or the time when I told him he was funny and he said "I think you mean hilarious".

Memorial Day

 The kids and I went with mom and dad to the Lehi Cemetery to visit the graves of the Eddington side of the family. We saw Grandma & Grandpa Eddington's graves, then went on a search for other ancestors and relatives.

That night when Matt got home from work we went to the gardens, where it was superhero night. The kids had fun climbing through Spiderman's web, taking Black Widow's martial arts class, throwing Captain America's shield at comic book villans, and making Hulk's toothpaste.

 On the 25th we celebrated two more birthdays (my dad and Jackson) by going to the zoo. It was a perfect day to go, and the kids had fun with their cousins.

 After the zoo we headed back to my parent's house for a yummy barbecue and presents and cake. Jackson wants this cake every year! At least he makes it easy for me. Can you guess what Jackson loves at the moment?

 He was a little confused when he got a diaper wipe case from Danny and Leah. But he really loved what was inside!

Trafalga

Last year I bought a really good deal on City Deals for Trafalga. We decided to use it in May to celebrate all the birthdays (and because they were about to expire!). Our whole family got unlimited attractions, pizza, soda, ice cream and 100 tokens for $25! It was really fun, but I don't think we would have ever gone without that deal. The favorite ride by far was the bumper boats! The kids loved soaking each other and other people. Lincoln was especially merciless and attacked grown men until they were drenched!

There wasn't much for Landon to do, but he LOVED the airplanes!

Kensie and Lincoln were pro's at the rock wall by the end of the day.

Landon also loved "playing" all the arcade games!

Dance Festival

This is one of my favorite end-of-year festivities at the school! This year there was a torrential downpour all morning that miraculously stopped just before the festival. This year the first grade danced to Hey Mickey. It was so cute! The fifth grade danced to a song from The Lorax. Of course Kensie was on the opposite side of the field in the back, so I didn't get any pictures of her.

The preschool danced to the Monkee's theme song and 5 little monkeys. Super cute! I was rejoicing that they didn't do the Bear Hunt song like they've done in the past. Jackson and David had fun goofing off, but once the music started they were all business.
