3 Months Old!

Jackson's 3 months old today! I can't believe how big he's getting!! His favorite pass times are sucking on his fist, batting at his hanging toys in his carseat and on his baby gym, laughing (he just started doing full on belly laughs, which I can NEVER capture on video), smiling, saying "goo", sleeping, "tooting" (he REALLY likes to do this....sometimes I think he does it on purpose because he knows he'll get a laugh- especially from his siblings!). He is such a fun baby. I'm excited to watch him grow, but also sad about how fast that is happening. I took a short clip of him, but of course he was being grumpy- I'll try again later!

I'm a Big Boy now!

I started potty training Lincoln this weekend! So far it's been good. We took a trip to Tai Pan on his first day in "big boy pants" & he did great! He was super excited to use the bathroom there {eek}....I hate taking the kids to public bathrooms. Anyway, so far so good. He's had a few little "leaks" but then he'll tell me right away & go to the toilet. He hasn't pooped since we began so I'm just waiting for that surprise! TMI, I know!! We'll see how the next few weeks go, but so far I'm pleasantly surprised.
So I saw this training urinal & about died laughing....it's called Peter Potty's training urinal. Maybe I need one for our house. I could just carry it around all day & set it up wherever Lincoln is :) I never knew they made such a thing!!

30

I woke up this morning and thought there's no way I'm turning 30 today. 30 year olds have houses, school-aged kids, and no life.....wait, that's me!

another reason I miss Kensie....

With Kensie gone all day, Lincoln is free to get into mischief! Today I came out of Jackson's room after putting him down to find THIS FACE. At first I thought it was chocolate, but then Lincoln informed me that it was my makeup!!! He spread it all over his hands, legs, and face- but he didn't stop there.... I also found it all over the walls and carpet in his room!! Little stinker.

On another note, Lincoln decided he wanted to dress Jackson up in his Build A Bear Rocco's clothes. Surprisingly they fit pretty well! The shirt was a little short, but the shorts were a perfect fit! Good times :)

Back To School

Well, my baby started first grade today. I still can't believe it! She was thrilled, of course, so I had to put on a brave face for her :) I waited until I was walking home from the bus to start crying!! Her teacher is Miss Smith. She seems really nice. So far Kensie is most excited about having school lunch and getting two recesses! I'm sure I'll adjust to her being gone all day, but right now I just can't get over the fact that she'll be gone all day every day for pretty much the next 12 yrs. {weep, weep}. I can't even think about what happens after that!

The Jellydots

I'm always looking for kids' music that I actually enjoy listening to. I just found this CD & I think it's great. The kids have been dancing to it all day!

The Gardens

I absolutely love the Thanksgiving Point gardens. I'd go there every day if I could. It's like stepping into a secret oasis. From the minute I step foot on the brick path I forget everything that is going on in the "real world". Instead of chasing after kids I saunter along taking time to smell the roses {literally!} with not a care in the world. Sitting in the Secret Garden I begin to feel like Mary Lennox {ever read the book?}. Each garden is different, and each garden lets me escape to a different place and time. There is definitely something magical about this place....

Spencer's Wedding

Well, my baby brother is married! So weird!! It was a great day. We got home from Arizona the day before (thurs.), so I spent that night doing laundry, ironing clothes, bathing the kids, etc. to get ready for the wedding. We had to be at the temple at 7:50 a.m. for the 8:20 ceremony. We were all pretty exhausted! My younger cousins watched the kids during the ceremony. The Sealer was a friend of my dad's {who isn't?} so the ceremony was very personal. He met with Andrea and Spencer a few days before the wedding and got to know them really well. After the usual photo-ops we headed over to the JSM building for the wedding breakfast. This was the first time I've actually had breakfast at a wedding breakfast, and it was gooooood!! Andrea LOVES breakfast so she was excited.

We had to be at the reception center at 4:45 for pictures- I was a bridesmaid {my first time}. I didn't get a picture of me in my outfit, but here's one of her sister.
The reception was supposed to go from 6:00-8:30...yeah, right! Not with my dad in line!! The kids had pretty much had it by this point, so we spent alot of time in the garden area playing games and making up dances about Princess Sara and the magical fairy forest!

They cut the cake around 9:15, threw the bouquet {no garter, they're high-class!}. It was a long but fun day & I still can't believe that Spencer's married! Poor Danny- now he's home alone with the parents! Anyone need a roomate??

Home Again!

We're back! We spent a lovely 8 days in Arizona and had a great time. Surprisingly, it wasn't that hot...I actually think it has felt hotter in Utah! Kensie, our little fish, basically lived in the pool! She perfected the cannonball during this visit. Lincoln was pretty much terrified of the pool on the first day, thanks to 2 near death experiences in the pool in Wyoming. After a little coaxing from me & Matt we finally got floaties on him & after awhile he warmed up. His mantra was "It's not scary, it's fun" and he kept repeating this to himself over and over. Finally, after all his positive affermations, he became quite the daredevil! Even Jackson braved the pool a few times!

We spent our time doing puzzles, watching movies, swimming a few times a day, playing games once the kids were in bed {Shanghai, Pit, & Life, Oh my!}, playing with cousins, and just relaxing. We went bowling one night with everyone & had a great time- Lincoln was one of the high scorers thanks to his sweet ball action {okay, the bumpers helped a little!}.

Marla bought all the grandkids BYU shirts...
...I know, you're amazed that I'd let my kids wear such a thing! I'm becoming less fanatical about the whole Utah/BYU thing as I get older {maybe}. Plus, my rugrats got UofU shirts for Christmas so I can't complain!! So, it was a great trip. Always fun to spend time with family and get away for awhile. Next on the agenda....Spencer's wedding!
