delicious autumn

Photobucket

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.

Fun in the hood

Photobucket
Our neighborhood firemen came to visit the other day and the kids had a blast sitting inside the fire truck, learning how it works, and getting goodies from the firemen.

things i am loving today

#1- That Jackson says "amen" at the end of a book instead of "the end"

#2- That my air conditioning is OFF!

#3- That Lincoln must always say three things to me at bedtime:

  • blow me a kiss {that's not really saying something, but it is quite juicy sometimes}
  • "Goodnight"
  • "Love you, too"
He has to say them in that order, and I have to repeat him after each one. If he messes up or doesn't like the way I repeat we have to start all over until it's done to his satisfaction. Sometimes this takes FOREVER!

#4- More awkward moments.

#5- That the leaves are changing.

*and one thing that I am NOT loving today- that stores already have their Christmas stuff out. Blech!

i'm a gleek

I've been living in a state of despair ever since this show was canceled....

But, beginning this week my despair will turn to glee.

Nothing else could counter my melancholy {except sytycd, which i cannot wait for either!}.

Ward Camp out

Photobucket
On August 21st we headed up American Fork Canyon for the ward barbecue and camp out. The church has a great site with nice facilities.

We had dinner in the lodge, which made me feel like I was in The Parent Trap. I kept waiting for Ms. Inch to start talking about the Thunderhead Boys Camp. The activities committee was not quite prepared for the number of people who came, so our family ended up having hot dog buns with ketchup and some cookies for dinner. I was less than thrilled.

The air mattress had a leak, so I didn't sleep very well, but at least I got to stare up at the stars as my back was spasming Ü

The next morning we had a devotional and yummy breakfast, then packed up for home. The kids had a blast {they'd camp 24/7 if they could} so it was worth it, but next time the air mattress must work and I will be shoving people out of the way to make sure we get some food!

Preschooler

Lincoln started preschool on August 27th. This year he's attending the preschool at the elementary school, which is fabulous in many ways- some of them being that he gets to ride the bus and he goes four days a week.

He was so excited to ride the bus and was not nervous at all {unlike his mother}. He climbed right on and found someone to sit by. Of course, I had to follow the bus down to the school just to make sure he was okay.
Photobucket
His teacher was there to meet the bus and took them in to start class. I did manage to get one wave from him before he walked inside {and I started crying}.
Photobucket
He's loving it, and I must admit that it's rather nice to have some one on one time with Jackson.
