8 Months

What? Eight months already?? My C-section, waking up in the middle of the night, and nursing a billion times a day are all distant memories. The thoughts that fill my head now include:

"Finally! Two teeth!"
"Standing up? Time to lower the crib!"
"Heading for the stairs.....time to dust off the baby gate."
"I can't believe you like curry!"
"How are you already cruising around the furniture? Where did my baby go??"
Jackson's learned a lot in the past month. I fear he'll be walking by next month. I sure hope not! He's growing up too fast, but he sure is fun and cute!

A Day Of Pondering and Remembrance

I was both saddened and joyful as I heard the news last night of President Hinckley's passing.

Saddened because I will miss him. I'll miss his witty comments. I'll miss his abounding love of life, people, and Jesus Christ which was so evident in all he said and did. I'll miss his cute face! I'll miss his council and guidance, but I'm grateful to know that this council and guidance does not end with his death- that it will continue with the next prophet.
Joyful as I thought of how wonderful his reunion with his cute wife must have been! I know he is so happy to be with her again.

He was a great man. I will miss him!

OH BOY

Just a post to say that I won't be posting until after Sunday.....

I just got made RS Secretary AND found out Matt & I have to speak in Sacrament Mtg. on Sunday {ug}. Why do we have to be the people the bishop calls last minute when his other speakers are going out of town? Who does that, anyway {say they'll speak in church, then call the week of & say they're going out of town}?

Wish me luck!

No school today....hooray!

Our house outside today...

Our house inside today...

We didn't leave the house {except to snow blow the driveway. fyi- the snow was knee deep. My knee, not the kids. Jealous?}. I'm glad today was a holiday so we didn't have to use the school "snow day". I'm banking on that extra day for spring break!

Flashback Friday

I've won many awards in my day {okay, not really} but these two make me the most proud. Girls Camp brings out the best in all of us- especially me, apparently! I must confess that I haven't lived up to either of these awards, though public urination is always something I'm striving for. How the awards committee decided that I was worthy of the "belching in my wedding line" honor I'll never know.

Blog It Forward

Ok, I was lucky enough to be chosen on Josie's blog for her "blog it forward" homemade treat. So now I'm paying it forward! Here's how it works: the first three people to leave a comment saying they want to participate will receive a handmade gift from me within the next six months. The only stipulation is that you have to have a blog, so you can do the same, and you have to pay it forward by sending a handmade gift to three other people. So, who out there wants to pay it forward with me???

Another Find

Okay, I just discovered another computer treat that I am in love with. One of my "resolutions" this year is to read the standard works. I was searching for reading schedules and found this awesome website called ReadTheScriptures.com. You enter in which book of scriptures you want to read, which reading schedule you prefer {30 days, 1 chapter a day, etc.}, and where you want to start. Then they send you an email with your first reading assignment. You can read it right on your email or listen to it on the audio link {which I LOVE}. When you've finished you click completed and they send you the next one. Amazing! If you still prefer reading from your actual scriptures {which I am partial to} it at least gives you a good schedule to keep to. Hopefully I'll get through them all this year.........this program should help.

Edward and Bella

What do you think? I'm not so sure. I've pictured them so differently. Ah, well. That's what happens when you read the books first. I'm sure I'll get used to it {especially if the movie's good}. It will be interesting to see the rest of the cast. Jacob? Charlie? Alice? Jasper? Who knows what they'll look like?!

A Christmas Treat {or two} For You

For your viewing pleasure......a few clips of our holiday fun.

#1: Kensie reading notes from Santa {one regarding her tooth and another about the cookies}. Lincoln's excavator in the background is a bit distracting.....

#2: Kensie's school Christmas program. This is their Christmas Lullaby song. Of course I HAD to sit in front of the unruly child who wouldn't keep his trap shut. Oh well....

Read{er} This

I just discovered google reader and am in love! Basically all you do is enter in any blogs you visit (or other sites) and it will let you know when they have been updated. No more clicking on every blog to see if there is a new post. Less time on the computer is always a good thing! I just go to my Google Reader account and they tell me which ones have a new post. I also like that they don’t send you emails when something is new. You have to go to your Google Reader to find out. I get enough emails already.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Try it out if you haven't already. It's a time-saver, especially for checking those blogs that aren't updated all that often {you know who you are}.

Seven Months Old

Jackson's already coveting his brother's new bike. He is a happy and active 7 month old. He is moments away from crawling, which I am not quite ready for. I miss my baby!! He still cuddles, though, which makes me happy! He hasn't sprouted any teeth yet. His siblings both had teeth at this age so I'm just waiting for one to appear. He LOVES to eat- especially "real" food {aka bread, cheerios, etc.}. I'm thinking he'll make lineman after all. He's totally into his toys. He'll sit on the floor surrounded by toys and be good to go for awhile {usually at least long enough for me to do the dishes, get some laundry done, or do a bit of blogging}. He is at such a fun age! Always learning.
