A Halloween Mix

I was QUEEN of the mixed tape {cassette tapes. remember those?}. I spent hours putting together the right mix of songs for my various moods and tastes. I had ones "for my mellow mood", "oldies but goodies", "metal madness", "sundry ska delights", etc. etc. etc.

To this day I still love me a good mix, so I thought I'd create one for Halloween this year. The kids have loved it, so I thought I'd share.

Park City

 

We spent fall break in Park City with my family. It was great to have everyone there together the whole weekend. We did tons of fun things, including:

It was a relaxing weekend! Thanks, mom and dad!!

Crazy Hair Day!

Toothless

Lincoln lost his first tooth on October 7th. It had been a little wiggly for awhile, but he was eating a piece of licorice and ran over to me to show me that his tooth was bleeding and REALLY wiggly now! He wouldn't let me pull it out, but when Matt came home and "wiggled" it, it came right out! Lincoln was so excited to finally get in on the Tooth Fairy action! He's been seeing Kensie get rich off her teeth for many years now and it was finally his turn!

SOLIDs

We started Landon on "solid" foods last week. Why do they call them solids anyway? Nothing really solid about them to begin with....

Anyway, he started out on sweet potatoes (his pediatrician told us that the whole rice cereal first idea was totally old school, and there's no need to even give it to them. This was super news, because let's be honest- that stuff is nasty). Landon LOVES eating, and we're trying to work our way through lots of veggies before we get to the good stuff- fruits.

p.s. how did I ever survive without the Bumbo?

Good morning Sunshine.....

Nerds Rock!

 I LOVE being in the Young Women program! I'm the 2nd counselor, and thus get to plan lots of fun activities for the girls every week. This past week the Beehives were in charge of the combined activity and we decided to have a Daddy/Daughter Nerd night. Everyone came dressed up and we played various games like:

"You Look Hairy Pretty Tonight" (dad's had to braid their girl's hair)

"Brain Busters" (which tested their true nerdiness)

"To Tie or Knot To Tie" (girl's had to tie a tie on their dad)

"A Close Shave" (girls gave their dad a shave- blindfolded and with a tongue depressor)

"Pick Your Nose" (dads put paper bags over their heads with holes for their noses to stick out and the girls had to guess which nose was their dad's)

It was a blast!

Gourmet Night

 

I had a great time hosting Gourmet Night at my place last night! As usual it was a blast (although we missed a few key members...). I got to bed around 4:00 a.m. and was up again at 6:30 to get the kids off to school, but it was well worth the sleep deprivation!
