another vacation post

ARIZONA: part two

We headed to the cabin for the last 3 days of our vacation. The weather was perfect and the kids played outside all day every day. We did lots of four-wheeling, arrowhead hunting (only Matt was successful this year), game playing, crafting, tree climbing, gun shooting, water drinking, and relaxing.

Landon loved just roaming around outside. He fell down a lot outside but always got right back up without a scratch. However, when he tripped inside the cabin he came away with a split lip which was pretty bad. He had a hard time eating and drooled constantly because he couldn't shut his mouth.

Landon hated the ATV at first, but soon loved going on rides!

they even climbed trees at night!

can you spot Kensie?

The night before we left it rained. Afterward an amazing double rainbow appeared! It was so neat!! What a great way to end a fabulous vacation. We wish we could get down there more often.

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig

Whew. It's been a great few weeks full of vacationing fun! Back to back vacations are great, but exhausting. It's good to be back in a routine. So, without further ado, let's begin the vakay wrap-up's and picture overload!

ARIZONA: part one

Our yearly trip to Arizona was a blast! As usual we had car problems (that resulted in getting the transmission replaced when we got home) but luckily this time the car functioned until we were safely home again. The trip down went really fast (for me, at least!). Our kids are good travelers for the most part.

We spent the first 5 days eating ice cream, enjoying the pool, watching the Tour De France, playing games, shopping, hanging out with family, watching movies, and wishing we had iPhones so we could join in the Words With Friends action {haha!}.

Kens and Lincoln having a "tea party"

The kids loved playing with their cousins, and we had some hilarious times playing Boxers or Briefs.

The Bees

As part of Lincoln's T-ball season he got 2 tickets to a Bee's game. He was SO excited to have a special night out with dad! The game was pretty boring, but they had fun eating hot dogs, getting treats, and meeting the Bee.

Lincoln also thought it was exciting that Matt got pulled over on the way home!
{Luckily just for having a headlight out!}

The Fourth

We celebrated the Fourth of July at the gardens. The kids made fun crafts, ate apple pie filling, and got their  faces painted. I got eaten alive by mosquitos. Jackson asked for a dragon on his cheek, but sadly the lady was only proficient in snakes....ah well!

Since fireworks are banned in our neck of the woods we opted to watch the Macy's NYC fireworks on TV. It was actually pretty good, but no substitute for seeing them in person. I heard that the valley was aglow all night thanks to the big daddy fireworks that are now legal. Maybe for the 24th we'll sit on the hill and watch it all!!

We also celebrated 10 years of remission for Matt! Woo Hoo!! I was contemplating throwing a huge bash to honor the occasion, but I didn't want to jinx anything. I'm superstitious like that. However, we are planning on attending Light the Night this year to celebrate.

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday and had a fabulous time! Matt, Kensie and Lincoln spent the day at Lagoon with Grandpa Holbrook and had such a blast. I was impressed that Lincoln went on all the rides; even Colossus and Centennial Screamer. My kids are braver than I was at that age!

They met up with us later at the park where we were having our own fun with the Young's and Hallman's! We ate a ton of cotton candy, played ball & frisby, ran around on the never-ending field, and ate yummy food. The little guys were thrilled with all the freedom to run! It was such a fun, relaxing day. We need to do it more often.
