*name the person who would say something like that and you get mega bonus points!

I'm seriously getting tired of the Asian spam comments on here. It's not like I get a lot of comments, so when I do get one I get excited.......only to see something I can't read. I tried turning on my word verification again, but that didn't help at all.

Who knows, maybe I have a loyal follower from China or something. But how am I supposed to know? I can't read the kanji......

I'm thinking I'll start having my brothers translate them for me, although I probably don't want to know what they say. Maybe it's better to be ignorant.

I may just turn off my comments for awhile.....

Cabin

After Kensie's final day at dance camp we headed up to the cabin for some fun that she could finally join in on!! The kids had fun playing and exploring outside all day.

Danny, Leah, and William came up later and we had a yummy dinner and enjoyed the ginormous marshmallows they brought!! I have yet to get any pictures of Landon at the cabin.....hopefully next time!

Zoo Fun

We went to the zoo twice while Kensie was at dance camp- once with the Holbrook cousins and once with the Young cousins. Both visits were super fun {and hot!}!

The kids loved seeing Zuri, the baby elephant, and we had some strange encounters with an ostrich {I won't go into detail....let's just say GROSS!}, a giraffe and his long tongue, and an opera singing monkey.

Liberty Park

Photobucket

Kensie has had a dance camp all week up at the University of Utah, so rather than spend my day driving back and forth we've been finding fun things to do downtown. We had a fun morning with Leah and William at Liberty Park. It was a little chilly at first, but the kids didn't mind and had fun playing in the water. It's a super fun park! Thanks for the invite, Leah!!

Landon's Blessing Day

Photobucket

We {technically Matt} blessed Landon on July 4th. It was a great day and we were so happy to have family there to celebrate with us. In attendance were:

Great Grandma May
Great Aunt Teresa
Grandma & Grandpa Young
Grandma & Grandpa Holbrook
Uncles Curt, Danny, and Spencer
Aunts Charlene, Alayna, Andrea, and Leah
Cousins Luke, Ty, Jake, Thomas, and William

I'm so grateful to have a family full of men who are worthy priesthood holders. There is nothing greater than hearing your husband give your child a blessing, and to see him surrounded by such great examples.

We had everyone over after & it was fun to chat and eat!! Thanks for coming, everyone!

*and if you have pictures from the day will you send them to me? My camera was being faulty!

July 4th {or 3rd}

Photobucket

Since the Fourth of July fell on a Sunday this year we decided to celebrate on the third. We started the day at a birthday party for nephew Ty, then headed over to Rich & Marla's for dinner, games, and fireworks! The kids had fun playing Uno with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Alayna and wrestling with Curt & Matt. They also spent a lot of time torturing trying to coax a water snake out from under a rock. Jackson finally succeeded and uncle Curt caught the poor, stinky thing.

We enjoyed the firework show courtesy of Marla and Costco. The kids had fun trying to guess what each one would look like, and would cheer {or boo if it wasn't up to their standard} after each one.

It was also 9 years ago that Matt was diagnosed with Leukemia. He loves that he gets to celebrate being alive each year with fireworks!

Eleven

Eleven crazy, wonderful years!

Sure, we've had a few years that were more crazy than wonderful, but we've loved each other through it all! I couldn't ask for a better friend & partner in crime to spend forever with.

Here are some things I love about Matt:

1. I love that we have so many memories together. We went to high school dances in the same groups {though never together}, spent late nights watching our favorite movies and laughing our heads off, wrote letters from England and Thailand. He was truly my best friend before he became my boyfriend, and I love that about him!

2. He's a glass half full kind of guy. He's always looking on the bright side and doesn't stress needlessly about things {unlike me!}.

3. He always tells me he loves me & gives me a kiss before he leaves for work in the morning, even though most of the time I'm still asleep and he knows I don't hear him.

4. He's an amazing father. He's the fun parent, and the kids are always counting the minutes until he comes home from work. He wrestles and has sleep overs and teases endlessly {which the kids pretend to hate but secretly love}.

5. He balances out my sometimes overly emotional personality with his laid back, go with the flow personality {which drives me crazy at times, but also keeps me grounded}.

6. He watches Food Network with me, and likes it.

7. He came to all my dance performances, even though sometimes they were bizarre and/or boring. I'll always remember him yelling my name during one of our high school performances! He proposed to me after my final concert in college. He's always supported me in everything I've done.

8. He likes to eat. I like to cook. It's a perfect match.

9. He's a cancer survivor. He had to go through so much, but he almost always had a smile on his face & a joke to tell. I think that's why he's still here 9 years later.

10. He speaks very sarcastically and therefore people sometimes have a hard time knowing if he's being serious or joking around. I love this, and am the same way, but hate having to explain this to people so they don't think he really beats the children or wears thong underwear.

11. He puts up with me. Anyone who can do that is truly amazing!
