Sundries

There has been a lot going on lately, and I just can't seem to get my act together when it comes to blogging. Here's my attempt to catch up....

1. Have I mentioned that Jackson cracks me up? Here are a few more examples:

"FUNDER!"

"Single Ladies" has been replaced....

2. This is my last week of work until the baby comes {which is on May 13th barring any unforeseen circumstances}. It's bittersweet for me. I love all those rugrats, but I'll be glad to rest for a week before MY rugrat arrives. I'm so grateful that I'll be able to go back when I'm ready, and for all the support everyone there has shown me.

3. We had a wonderful time at the Salt Lake Temple with Matt's sister, Alayna, as she attended for the first time. It was great to be there with everyone. I'm pretty sure this night was the "breaking point" for my pubic bone, but it was worth it!! We wish she could have stayed longer....

4. Kensie got to play a piano "duet" with Larry Beebe at my parent's house awhile ago. She thought it was so awesome! What an amazing experience.

5. I'm starting to actually believe that I'm going to have a baby in mere weeks, and it has me both excited and freaked out! The hormones have returned. I spent yesterday just holding Jackson and crying because he's not going to be my baby anymore....

6. I am so grateful to have amazing friends and family who are taking such good care of me! I feel unworthy of all the calls, treats, meals, babysitting, etc. It's much easier for me to give the help, but it has been SO wonderful to be the recipient. I'm starting to realize that I don't have to be superwoman. It's okay if I'm in pain and can't do everything I want to. And it's okay to let people help me with those things I can't do. It doesn't make me less of a woman.

7. My mind and heart are in full nesting mode, but my body cannot fulfill the need to clean, organize, and prepare the way I want to. It's frustrating. I wish men experienced nesting....

8. Spring has finally arrived. The vole tracks are being raked out, the deer are daily visitors, the hill is turning green, and the windows are letting in the fresh air! Also, my toes look like sausages, my ankles are now cankles, and I can barely type with my bloated fingers. Thank goodness I'm having this baby before summer comes!

9. I'm officially a mini-van mom. I thought I'd never say it....
We've been searching for months and finally found one that we liked and could afford (not an easy task!). It will be nice to be able to all fit in one car. The kids think it's the greatest and get excited every time we have to go somewhere! We'll see how I do without 4-wheel drive in the winter...

Glad to hear you are surviving and that all is going well. Can't wait to hear about the arrival of your new little guy. I'm so glad you've had help there. Wish I was able to help out! Please keep us posted.

I love the title. I'm so glad work is being so accomodating for you. Congrats on the mini-van-best purchase we ever made--I'll never go to the large SUV.

I wish I could help you while you are in so much pain with the pubic bone thing. My water broke last night and I'm sitting in the hospital until I have this baby on Thursday--yes a full 6 weeks early. Not too happy about it and like you I had no desire to nest and was completely unprepared for this!

D, congrats on the mini-van! And isn't it a weird mix of emotions, holding your youngest, knowing they won't be your youngest much longer!? Wish you could have joined us last night. It ended up being quite exciting with Brooke's water breaking and all...:) Hope you can bear everything the next couple of weeks.

You have voles too? Hate them!
That does sound frustrating to want to nest but you can't. I get so anxious the last few weeks of pregnancy.
Congrats on the mini-van. I love the convenience and practicality of it.
