The Cabin

We spent the weekend at Matt's grandparents cabin. We had such a great time! It was beautiful up there, and we had perfect weather. I grew up going to the Eddington cabin (my mom's side of the fam) & it's fun to have another cabin to go to. I remember feeling so carefree at the cabin growing up; it's funny how things change as you grow up- for example:

Then

1. played outside with the cousins all day

2. hiked everywhere & never got {too} lost

3. stayed up late playing games

4. slept in

5. always had yummy food

6. didn't care if I was dirty

Now

1. listen to or watch the kids play outside while I'm inside {most likely cleaning}

2. hike everywhere with the kids so they don't get lost, usually toting the baby in the Snugli

3. stay up late playing games- some things never change!

4. sleep in? Yeah right! Up at the crack with the baby, then getting things ready for the day

5. always cooking yummy food

6. still don't care if I'm dirty, but DO care that my kids spend all day outside touching who knows what, then come in and go to the bathroom {sans hand washing}, then get their grubby hands all over the food and {gasp} the baby's face!

Even though I have to bee the "responsible" one now and things aren't so carefree, I still love cabin fun!! Plus, it's great knowing my kids are growing up with the same fun memories. Here are a few of the things we had fun doing this trip:

Stamping

Digging

Relaxing

Jump-roping

Game Playing

Log Dancing

Snake Charming

Hiking

Reading {Junie B. Jones, of course}

Even Seal had fun!

Life is so fun and carefree when you're a kid.
Love the new look of your blog. Did you scan scrapbook paper or find a good website w/blog templates? I haven't had much success in my search so far. You are more web savvy than I. Very cute.

good idea to go camping. we're going for the first time this season tomorrow. no fun cabin for us, just the tent!
