We went camping this weekend {our first time all year- pathetic, I know} & had such a fun time! We drove up American Fork canyon & camped at Granite Flat. We picked a great spot that was pretty secluded, yet near a bathroom, which was a must! We spent the day hiking, getting settled, playing games and exploring. We did the usual camping things {i.e. roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, sat around the campfire} and played Old Maid by the light of the lantern that night. It was absolutely FUH-REE-ZING all night. Actually, I was the only one freezing- everyone else was cozy in their sleeping bags but I was the one getting in & out to feed the baby, calm Lincoln down when he woke up & didn't know where he was, etc. Anyway, we had a great time despite my frozen extremities!! The kids didn't want to leave as they had discovered a "secret trail" that they thought was super cool. It was a fun get-away, although I did learn a few things on this trip:
1. Bundle Me's work well as a sleeping bag.
B. When camping with a child who is being potty trained, sometimes you must resort to the Pull-Up's.
III. When your husband wakes up in the morning and says "Man, I slept great! I wasn't cold at all!", try not to run for the camping hatchet- you'll be the one cleaning up the mess anyway.
