There's no business like SNOW business

I feel like I have far too many posts about the snow, but it really is my life lately.....so here come's another. Every day I look out our back windows at the lovely snow drifts that cover our backyard. It really is a beautiful sight. I could stare at them forever, especially in the sunlight. Today we had a{nother} huge storm. Church was cancelled. We got a ton of snow. I'm not kidding. Matt started working overnights tonight {he's in charge of inventory}. I got an email from the bishop tonight telling everyone to make sure that their outside heat vents were cleared of snow so we didn't all die from the toxic fumes that would infiltrate our homes {okay, he didn't quite put it that way, but it freaked me out enough to go check ours}. The kids were all in bed, so I put on my boots {NOT snow boots; no snow pants, either}, got a shovel & headed for the backyard. Of course I couldn't just walk out the back french doors into the yard because there is snow half way up the doors {I kid you not}.

SO, I marched out the front door and around the side of the house. My first step off the porch landed me waist-deep in the snow.

I was NOT smiling {this friend obviously had snow boots & pants}. I soldiered on, feeling like a pioneer, nearly falling in a window well {which wouldn't have really mattered since it was full of snow}. A few times I wondered what would happen if I got stuck. Luckily I didn't {permanently, anyway}. Well, I finally reached the vent & it was indeed covered....which was good because if it hadn't been covered I would have been cursing my paranoia all night while I waited for my hips to thaw out.

SO, I saved our family from imminent danger tonight....but now my beautiful snow drifts are tainted with waist-deep footprints.

BLAST!

dar, you should write a poem to go with that lovely picture of your footprints in the snow!

Although the snow is pretty to look at, I don't miss it!

Thanks for your e-mails and comments. I am doing really well and am just hoping that I can stay out of the hospital for a while.

We love you all and are so appreciative of your prayers for us.

Love,
Charlene
