My lack-luster blogging as of late is due to these recent events:
NUMBER ONE
TOP SOIL. We spent an entire Saturday (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.) spreading out top soil. My job was shoveling the massive pile of dirt into the wheelbarrow. Matt shoveled and dumped, and my dad raked and graded. NOT the most fun thing to do in 100 degree weather, but we got it done!It took my arms and back a week to recover. Just in time for......
NUMBER TWO
SOD. We spent the next Saturday laying sod. Just me and Matt {with a little "help " from the kids}. Once again, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Another day from H-E-double hockey sticks. Luckily it was overcast for most of the day, which made it bearable. We're so glad to have it done!! The hard stuff is over.
NUMBER THREE
The Oly's. I am LOVING the Olympics this year. Can't get enough. My ultra-competitive nature comes out in full force no matter what event I'm watching {as it does when Utah plays BYU in anything}. I think I'm rubbing off on the kids. After every USA race, routine, meet, and even point scored Kensie and Lincoln lead the family in a rousing chant of USA! USA! It's fun :) I've got the DVR set to record syncronized swimming, trampoline, and rhythmic gymnastics {why those are on in the middle of the night I can't understand}.
This has been my favorite moment {so far}. Click on the picture if you somehow missed it {what kind of American are you?!}.

Wow! I can't believe you had to lay sod by yourself. I I'da known, we would have helped out. I hear you on the Olympics. We can't get enought either. I stayed up until midnight watching last night. I love Michael Phelps!!!!!
I am so with ya! I am ravenous about the Olympics. I just can't get enough.
The back yard looks terrific. What an accomplishment. I feel guilty for not helping you, but I didn't realize!!!
Go USA! And Utah!
Love your yard, wish it were mine. We are waiting back to here from the engineer with Suncrest before we can go any further. He has some modifications last I heard from the HOA.
Nice yard Natalie! You deserve a nice glass of lemonade in a lounge chair in the backyard.
First of all, I am totally loving the looks of the backyard! It looks huge! AMAZING!!!
And secondly, I am with you on the Olympics. Right now I am having a dilemma cause my friend let me borrow her Breaking Dawn book, so I try to read the book while watching the Olympics. It's a tough choice...
TOTALLY LOVED the men's 4x100m relay race. I was screaming in my room all by myself! Good times! USA! USA! USA!
Your yard looks awesome! So glad the hard part is over.....ugh
